Homemade Kale Chips

Kale is cheap but kale chips are pricey. Here is a simple healthy and super crispy kale chips recipe with air fryer.

  1. Consistent temperature is needed here so it is important to pre-heat the air fryer to 350ºF for 5 mins.
  2. Wash the kale, pat dry with paper towel and cut into bite size pieces.
  3. Put the kale in a bowl and toss with some avocado oil.
  4. Sprinkle some salt as well as the seasoning of your choice. I put some Japanese seasoning called Shichimi Togarashi (also known as 7 spice blend).
  5. Spread the kale on the basket and cook for 4 minutes.

Since the kale is very light when dry, I put a stainless steel mesh as a weight to avoid the kale from flying to the heating element.

IF you are doing multiple batches, reduce the temperature by 25ºF (no less than 275ºF) for each batch.
